Why donate?

Classes take time and effort and resources to produce, but Dharma isn’t a business transaction. The Buddha-Dharma has always been supported by practitioners and others who appreciate its value. Give what you can because you know the value of the Dharma to yourself and others.

Generosity is the first paramita and it is essential. When teachers and students come together, there is a temporary opportunity to practice the Dharma and see it come to fruition. So naturally we want to take advantage and support that.

Pay as much as you can afford, knowing that there is no “profit” — anything above cost will go back into supporting teachers, sangha and the wider community, keeping that circle thriving for as long as possible.

Bring your practice of generosity (“dana”) into a freewill (intentional, volitional) offering at the level you can afford. Make it a recurring donation so we can better budget future programs. If your financial situation changes for the better, increase your recurring monthly donation. If necessary, scale it back. But keep your regular support going, to sustain a thriving community of learning and practicing and transforming.

See giving, receiving and working with the jewel of Sangha as an integral part of practice, not as supplemental.
